About an africa-inspired world (primary desert and sub-saharan savannah) where (some?) people can shapeshift into an animal they’re just born with and depending on the animal ot can affect their fate or ties to the gods/spirits
Different regions have different animals that are more or less common for a person to have and the generally most respected animals all round are whales, felines, crocodiles, gorillas, and elephants.
My lil guy (mc) has a special animal- Liopard (lion x leopard hybrid) and is possibly related to important figures from two different regions that dont get along (with these figures having a lion and leopard animal, respectively)
But he just lives by himself on the coast
