We have recently added a few new rules to the wiki, specifically pertaining to creating and editing pages. You can view these on the wiki policies and editing guide pages, but here are a few highlights:
Sources are now required for every page. For a list of what sources we accept and how to format them, visit the new citing standards page.
It is no longer acceptable to coin genders by creating a page. If you want to coin a new gender on the wiki, please do so on a blog post or a discussions post in our new gender coining discussions category.
There are now better rules in place to prevent misinformation and redefining of terms. We are also going to be better with verifying that the information and sourcing on pages is correct.
All of this is still a bit in the works and details are subject to change, but these are our new rules as of now. If you are an editor on the wiki, please go read through all of the new wiki policies and the updated editing guide before you continue editing.
If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask them in the replies of this post! (but please stay on topic).
Is there the privilege to swear again?
@Bcgfhjbvhcftdfgyhbj No, swearing is still disallowed on this wiki.
Thanks for the post ( ・∇・)
I’m kidding X[
@CronosLordOfTime Hello there :]
If I coin a gender via a blog post of my profile, can I make a page for it after I do that? Should I ask a moderator to check it before I make a page?
@HelenDaMelon It is perfectly fine to coin a gender via a blog post and then make a page for it after, as long as the gender wasn’t coined by making the page, you’re good!
My list becomes shorter ![]()
Can I stop recieving notifications from this?
It was 50 minutes ago.
Can I stop recieving them though?
If you click on the three dots on the post and click “unfollow post” you can stop getting notifications.
Question: if we coined a gender by creating one on this page before these new rules, does it still count as coined?
Go find a cube of bricks that are floating in the air then hit it with your fists and then you get coins by smashing it with your fists /J
@AroaceCryptid Yes, they still count as coined and none of them will be deleted. ![]()
If I could possibly add an idea, maybe you could have a Gender wait around 1 or 2 years before it should be inserted into the Wiki rather than inserting some Tumblergender (A term I made for genders made on Tumbler, not meaning any hate though) made only a few days ago. I think that could add a tad more creditably onto the wiki.
Also hey @Preyingpicantis63 didn’t know you saw this announcement too lmao.
@Pipythecat145
Although that might be more credible, the reason we don’t do that is because there really isn’t a reason too. In two years; the gender will still be the gender, and remain the same, unchanged. (probably, anyway). Since the end goal of the wiki is to document as many genders as possible, it’s just not worthwhile to wait so long.
I got scared when I saw the new rules thing for a sec, I thought it was finna be really strict but it’s not ![]()
@Pennythedummy yesh :]
