Mods

I would like to hear everyone’s options on if we should reopen mod apps or not. I’ve heard multiple people mentioning it so I decided to make a thread.

Idk I the number I feel like isnt the issue its like of actually doing mod things which and not being active

Bo said they’d think about adding new discussions mods because of the sensory warning and newer policies. Don’t see a need for any other positions though.

Somewhat on the topic of mod apps, I’m sorta wondering what people’s thoughts are on blocking people who don’t add sensory/trigger/content warnings, even after being told to several times. Short blocks, like one hour, two hour blocks for discussions only. The idea would be to make sure everyone is taking these rules seriously, since I feel like that’s not happening right now (i.e. maybe everyone would take the rules more seriously if the consequences felt more “real”).

^yeah. Maybe.

^idk if I have any say but my two cents is if their doing it purposefully on multiple occasions yeah

^^^ That might be good, but obviously only for repeat offenders.

^^^Yeah that sounds like a good idea we just have to make sure new users the polices too and like some can make a final info dump on the different trigger warns also this is semi off topic the only problem is that triggering things what should we trigger like some did food even if its just them mention of something and stuff like ik we strive to be a inclusive safe community but idk what should we trigger- we don’t know what to trigger besides some obvious ones we could make a list but then it might be to much to remember like for me its opinion based like creepypastas it was just a mention nothing deep but that needed tw sorry if this is blunt- like idk- different users have different tiggers and we simply cant know them all if you get what i mean

^ That’s also a good point. And a lot of people (us included, for personal reasons) aren’t really willing to share their triggers - I think the best we can do as a group is to take into consideration general triggers and anything in specific that someone brings up. And obviously making sure new folk on the wiki are aware of those rules.

^yeah I agree what confused me was “random triggers” like the examples I gave again Im not trying to be rude it’s just currently there is no rule thingy on what to add tw/cw besides the general things that are in place. A post could be made but like you said some dont feel comfortable sharing triggers and I thought of the list but then I think general groups could work idk. I’m done braining for today Im gonna color

^ Yeah. The way I feel about it is that if something truly makes one so uncomfortable that they can’t be around/see/speak about it without feeling triggered, then they can either share that so others can make a note of it, or make an effort to avoid those topics. We have odd triggers with general topics and we make a consistent effort to avoid them as to not burden others with having to censor it. At the end of the day, we’re all a team, and one can’t expect everyone to cater to their needs.
If keeping up with everything is the problem, we could have a blog post with a list linked in the rules, that way if someone isn’t sure they can check.
Edit- okay just reread that and it doesn’t sound exactly like what I meant (my bad, lol, didn’t proofread that). I less meant “we won’t cater to your needs” and more meant “we’re all a community and if you aren’t comfortable sharing that info, then people can’t be expected to know it - aka: you might have to censor it for yourself.”

^agreed :3 also its okay I proof read all the time and youll still find that my scattered brain puts random eyes lol/lh

@BoHere yeah we can establish a system of warnings and notices with that. it could be similar to what wikitubia uses?
Yeah we could use a few more discussions moderators for these issues. Probably two for now then we could as a community could reevaluate in a few months?
