light mention of dysphoria, transphobia, pain
okay, hi. my name is spades. i’m afab and, to no surprise, i have a noticeable chest. my mother is not supportive of binders; more accurately, she’s supportive of trans people until it’s her own kid, and she becomes uncomfortable during conversations about gender and gender expression. there’s no way i’m getting a binder from her.
now, i don’t often get chest dysphoria, but i do prefer to present with a flat chest, and so i often double-stack sports bras to compensate for lack of proper binder. this way tends to hurt me a bit more, as well as gets really hot and makes it incredibly hard to take breaks anywhere other than my house.
i want a binder badly. my 14th birthday is coming up soon, but i don’t know when i’ll be able to get a job, so buying myself one is off the table for a while. I’d also prefer one of those zip-up ones which likely decreases my chances of finding a cheaper one.
